How to Sync Google External Contacts with RingCentral
Part 1: Preparing your contact list
RingCentral will sync your personal contacts list with the “Contacts” list in your Google account. For external contacts to appear in RingCentral, you must first add all your external contacts to your google accounts “Contacts” list. Most external contacts will be saved in your “Other contacts” folder.
Step 1: Go to https://contacts.google.com/
Step 2: On the left pane scroll down until you see a button called “Other contacts” select that.
Step 3: Hover over one or more of your external contact(s) that you want to see in your RingCentral app. A checkbox will appear. Click on the checkbox.
Step 4: After selecting the external contact(s) that you want you will see additional options appear at the top of that page. Select the “Add to contacts” button.
Step 5: Review your contact list by selecting “Contacts”.
*Note: You can delete unwanted contacts in your “Contacts” by selecting them and selecting the 3 horizontal dots. This is a drop-down that will give you the option to “Delete” the selected contacts.
Part 2: Turning on the contacts sync in RingCentral
Step 1: Open the RingCentral app and select the “Settings” button on the lower left side of the window.
Step 2: Select the “Calendars and contacts” button.
Step 3: Select the “Sign in with Google” button.
Step 4: Select the “Access personal contacts” checkmark box then select “Connect”
Step 5: You will be prompted for your Google account sign-in.
Step 6: Select the “See, edit, download, and permanently delete your contacts.” checkmark box, then select “Continue”.
Step 7: You can check to make sure that all of your contacts are sync’d by going to your “Contacts” and selecting your “personal contacts” in the RingCentral app. Contacts sync from your Google account will be mark with Google’s “G” logo.
